How long have you been in business?
My grandfather started practicing law in Westmoreland County in 1914, and the Caruthers family, including throughout the years my father, William F. Caruthers, and my brother, J. David Caruthers, has been providing legal services ever since. Although I am currently in practice by myself, I keep the firm name of Caruthers & Caruthers, PC to honor that tradition and their memories.
What is your primary product or service?
General Legal Services, including Wills & Estates, Civil Litigation, Real Estate matters, Criminal Defense, Divorce, Personal Injury Cases and Business/Commercial matters.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Family Tradition: I am a third generation lawyer. I have been involved in the general practice of law for over thirty years, including three years as an assistant Public Defender and twenty years as the Solicitor for the Westmoreland County Register of Wills.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Experience and personal service: I handle each case myself. Most of my clients are referrals from friends, and when the case is over most of my clients are my new friends.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have two offices, with the principal office at 114 South Main Street in Greensburg and an office at 518 Main Street in Irwin for client appointments.
Which areas do you service?
Service area includes Irwin, North Huntingdon, Jeannette, Greensburg, Mount Pleasant, Latrobe, Murrysville, South Huntingdon, Hempfield, Penn Township, Ligonier, Herminie, Unity and the rest of Westmoreland County.
What are your hours of operation?
Hours of operation are generally 9:00AM to 4:30PM, and by appointment.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The greatest compliment from clients, even when they are not involved in a legal matter, is that they consider me to be "their lawyer" and they recommend me to a friend looking for a lawyer.
